Tordess is a proprietary (prop) trading platform for crypto. In a prop trading model, traders trade with the firm's capital rather than their own, so the platform has to stay connected to a live exchange and present trading data accurately and in real time.
What the platform does
- Real-time trading features connected to the OKX exchange API.
- Data visualization of trading activity.
- Data export for reporting and review.
My contribution
As a Software Engineer, I contributed to the data export, data visualization and real-time trading features, working with ASP.NET Core and C# on the backend, PostgreSQL for storage, the OKX API for exchange data, and React on the front end.
What I learned
Trading software has very little tolerance for "eventually correct". Working on Tordess taught me to think carefully about data consistency between an external exchange and our own records, about how numbers are rounded and displayed, and about keeping real-time views fast without overloading the backend.
This is a company project, so the source code is private.
